}On casino and sportsbook sites
Help articles, rule explainers and news on gambling sites all fit Article or a subtype such as NewsArticle or TechArticle. Google lists no required properties. Its author guidance says to include every author shown on the page, to put only the name in author.name, to use Person for people and Organization for organizations, and to link a page that uniquely identifies the author. More in article and author markup.
Mistakes to avoid
- "By" or job titles inside
author.name. - Authors as plain text strings instead of Person or Organization objects.
- Dates with no time zone offset.
- A publisher copied from another brand's template.
Questions
Is image required for Article markup?
Google lists image as recommended, not required. Use a representative, crawlable image when the article has one.
Can an article have no author?
If the page credits nobody, credit the publishing organization as the author, as the page itself does.
