From August 2023, Google showed FAQ rich results only for well-known, authoritative government and health websites. Its updates log then announced that the feature would no longer appear "starting May 7, 2026", and the documentation was removed on June 15, 2026. FAQPage remains a valid subtype of WebPage. Keep it only on pages where the questions and answers are visible and specific, as the FAQPage research explains.
Mistakes to avoid
- Promising FAQ snippets in an audit or proposal.
- FAQ markup added to every page by a plugin.
- Questions in markup that are not on the page.
- Answers that promote offers or odds.
Questions
Can one page have two FAQPage blocks?
Schema.org does not forbid it, but a page is one FAQ page. Put every question in a single mainEntity list so the markup matches what readers see.
Why does SchemaReel still use FAQPage?
Some of our pages end with visible questions. The markup describes them accurately; we do not expect a Google feature from it.
